I feel sorry for Sarah Palin

Ok even though I’m an Obama supporter I wanted to tell you all that I feel sorry for Sarah Palin and why.

Ok first, I saw the interview with Charles Gibson (thanks to youtube) and boy did I feel she came off like a twit. I though to myself “OMG what is wrong with the Republicans that they’d pick this nutjob as the Vice Presidential nominee!” But I didn’t care…better fo us Democrats, because the world isn’t crazy enough to vote for a whack-job like her that is one heartbeat away from President, right?

So I just chuckled at her and how well umm for lack of a better word DUMB she appeared (grant it, I know she can’t be all that dumb since she’s gone as far as she did thus far, but boy she sure does come off like a big giant dope.)

Anyway, I laughed it up and I even laughed harder at the SNL skit that they did with Tina Fey as Palin and she was talking to Hillary Clintion, etc. That was hilarious. If you haven’t seen that skit, you must watch it! I don’t care if you are a dem or repub that is some funny stuff.

So I just laughed at her when I seen her or heard her until………I youtubed (thank you again) the interview she had with Katie Couric. Let me tell you that while I was watching that interview I actually felt sorry for Sarah Palin, because well quite frankly she isn’t reaady to be in this position that she’s in. I know that even though you’re not ready to run for VP of the U.S. that if you are asked, you’re probably gonna jump at the opportunity anyway, but gosh, this woman basically just got thrown into this and she shouldn’t have.

That made me feel sorry for her. I mean it’s hot her fault she looks like a deer caught in the headlights sometimes, it’s not her fault that she doesn’t know what she’s talking about sometimes, it’s not her fault she sounds like a dope more often then not. She shouldn’t be in this position and I have no idea what McCain and the Republicans were thinking (actually I do, but come on, you couldn’t have picked better woman running mate?)

Anyway, does anyone agree with me? Did ya’ll see that interview? Or any of her interviews? Am I seeing things or does she really appear to be a dope?

By the way, just for the record I do want Sarah Palin to know that I, as a lesbian, do TOLERATE her.

Undergoing some changes….

Well we just switched over to a new host and of course, me not being so technically inclined, I forgot to save all of the links that I had.  So for that I apologize!  I will certainly work towards getting them all back, but if I had a link to your website or your blog, please please please let me know here and I will put it back.  I promise!

Also, I’m trying to figure out how to make some changes here…..I’m a one man errr woman show around here and do everything myself and well sometimes I don’t know what the hell I’m doing  lol  so it takes me some time……but darn it I’ll figure it out.

Thanks for hanging in there tho…things will be back to normal in no time.

When you move into a new neighborhood! Experience any problems?

Ok obviously we as glbt folks don’t always live in the same place forever with the same neighbors that we’ve grown to love, right?

But when it’s time to move and you move into a new neighborhood……what happens?  Have any of you experienced any problems with your new neighbors because of who you LOVE?   And I do realize that it sound pathetic that we may experince problems because of who we LOVE (not hate, but love) but that’s the reality of the situation especially when it comes to the ignorance of people who obviously have their head up their asses and live in some world that does not and will NEVER exist.

My readers know that my partner and I just moved into a new home in an awesome development and in a neighborhood that I am REALLY, REALLY taking a liking too (I wasn’t so gung-ho about it before because it is completely different than where I’ve ever lived in my entire 35 years of living.)

Anyway…we have neighbors on our immediate right and immediate left that are awesome.  As a matter of fact, our one neighbor told us that whenever we needed any help with anything that we could borrow her husband lol  She said just tell me and I’ll send him over.  And he’s actually helped us out on a few occassions already.  (We had a problem getting our new weed whacker started one day and he heard us and came over to help….that was the first time…and he’s just been a sweetheart ever since.)

Sooo as I was saying…those neighbors and the ones on the other side of us are absolutely great.  Very kind, friendly and neighborly. However, we do have neighbors that live right across from us that won’t even look at us let alone speak to us.  Seriously, not even a look.  No wave, no smile, no nothing.  You’re probably thinking “who cares?”   And you’re absolutely right….I don’t give a shit about those people…they can ignore me and my family for the rest of their lives….doesn’t bother me one lil bit.

BUTTTT……my partner was talking to a neighbor (who gets shunned in the neighborhood because she’s getting divorced…) and it turns out the neighbors are talking about us.  Mhm.  But we all knew that was coming right?

Again…the neighbors can’t hurt ME or my partner by their words.  They mean absolutely nothing to us and never will….however……..this is where the problem arises….apparently a neighbor said to the other neighbor “Why do you let your son play with her son.  Don’t you know that we are questioning her sexuality right now!”  (ummm FYI neighbors there is NO QUESTION ABOUT IT!)

The original neighbor said something to the effect of “why wouldn’t I let my son play with her son?  She has the same moral values and family values as I do and she teaches her son the same things I teach my son!”

AFKNMEN!  Bravo to the neighbor who said that!  But seriously, wtf is wrong with people that someone actually needs to SAY THAT TO THEM??   Do you know what I mean?

Here’s the problem I have….we live in a very religious, conservative, republican area (lol I know, I know) and I have no problems with anyones religion or political affiliation or anything…but I have problems with people who have NO fkn common sense and NO fkn sense of decency and respect for other people!  THAT pisses me off.  And unfortunately, they learn that bullshit from their church!  Yes, I said it….they learn it from their church, but I don’t get how.   I mean they read the same bible that I know of (I don’t read it…I believe in GOD not religion and the bible doesn’t fall into my GOD guidelines it falls into my religious novel guidelines) and I’m pretty sure it says “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR” in there and not “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS LONG AS THEY ARE EXACTLY LIKE YOU, THINK EXACTLY LIKE YOU THINK, FEEL EXACTLY LIKE YOU FEEL, AND BELIEVE EXACTLY WHAT YOU BELIEVE.”

I mean you folks who know your bible better than me might be able to point at that latter line to me…but ummmm I sincerely doubt it.   So it pisses me off that people want to hide behind GOD and the fkn bible, but yet they don’t REALLY live the way the bible tells them to.

Anyway back to what was said….again that doesn’t bother ME….they mean nothing to me so they can’t really bother me personally…..but what they are doing is eventually hurting the kids.   Yep…….hurting my partners youngest child eventually when certain people won’t let their kids play with him and they are hurting their own children too by not teaching them about diversity and by teaching them about HATE instead of love and acceptance.  And their kids are going to miss out on knowing a lot of good people in thier lives.  It’s very sad.

Honestly, what do these people think?  What do they think their kids will see when they come over here?  Us kissing?  Us fucking?  Naked pics of women all over the place?  A lovefest of women running around naked?  Us handing out brochures in hopes of turning all of the kids in the neighborhood gay?   Fucking come on.  If any one of our bigoted, hatred filled neighbors had the balls to come into our home….guess what they would find?   Yes, you all already know…they’d find the same exact things in OUR home that they would find in their own homes.  They’d find that we do the same exact things in OUR home with OUR families that they do in THEIR home with THEIR families.

God help thir children if any of them ever do end up being gay!  It’s time to grow up people…..it’s 2008 for goodness sake.  Go to church if you want to, read the bible if you want to, but don’t forget to teach your children at home about Common Sense, Common Decency and Respect for others!   It’s really not that difficult.

Has anyone else had any similiar experiences they’d like to share?  And if so, how did you deal with it?

There Goes the Neighborhood!!!

hehehe  just teasing (but some may be thinking that for real!)   I’m sorry I’ve been slacking with the postings lately but it’s for a good reason I SWEAR!  My baby and I bought a house together.  We made settlement on 5/15 and honestly, we’ve been working non-stop since then.  New carpet, paint, etc. etc.  And this past weekend we started moving the bigger items in…now we’re just basically going back and forth and moving the rest of our stuff in…ya know  clothes, cd’s, books, kids, cats, etc. etc.  lmao  All of the important thangs!

After I’m all situated, things will be back to normal here……..please just give me a few more days but I’ll do my best to try to make a post or 2 tomorrow because there are some fantastic things happening in the world right now in regards to glbt rights.

Btw, care to share any experiences you have may have had when you and your partner buy a house together and move into a primarily straight development?  Definitely want to hear about your experiences if you’ve happened to move into a very conservative/republican type of area with your partner.

Interview with Stacey Sobel from Equality Advocates Pennsylvania coming soon…..

Stacey Sobel is the Executive Director of Eqaulity Advocates Pennsylvania. She and her organization have done and currently do some amazing things for the gay and lesbian community in Pennsylvania.

If you have any questions you’d like me to ask Stacey during this video interview you can post them here. I’ll also be doing an upcoming radio interview with Stacey in the near future about ways we can protect our relationship, how we can be more active in our communities to make a difference, and more. You can contact us to submit your questions for Stacey or you can leave a comment here with your questions.

We do these interviews for YOU, so please, anything that comes to mind that you want an answer to….ask away!

Please don’t forget to VOTE!

And especially if your state is having a primary of some sort; please, please, please get out and VOTE in it. If you have to change parties to vote for your candidate then please do so by the required deadline. (Pennsylvania’s primaries are Tuesday, April 22nd!)

As for who I’m voting for? Barack Obama. I like this guy. I like what he stands for. I like what he has to say. And well quite frankly, I don’t believe Hillary can beat John McCain. So if you want a change in America…..YOU NEED TO MAKE IT HAPPEN WITH YOUR VOTE. And, please make your vote count!

Read some more about Barack and how he feels about gay rights!
