So the Florida Legislature thought about gay adoption for a hot minute! As of right now, gays and lesbians are not allowed to adopt in Florida (but, of course, they can have foster children and can take care of these foster children for years and years and years…they just aren’t “good enough” to adopt them.)

Ok sorry….I lost control for a minute (actually, I’m not sorry.) Anyhow, bills in the House and the Senate were being considered that would get rid of the gay adoption ban that was set back in the 1970′s.



There was an amendment that was added asking to get rid of the question asking prospective parents if they own firearms and also asking prospective parents their sexual orientation. The amendment was, however, later withdrawn.

Senator Charlie Justice is the one who filed the amendment and then later withdrew it.
