Connecticut Supreme Court Legalizes Same-Sex Marriage
Awesome! Now we have 3 states in the United States that don’t discriminate against the people who live in their states (if only those states could knock some sense into the rest of ‘em!)
There was 85 pages to their decision and with a 4-3 decision gay marriage became legal in Connecticut.
“In accordance with these state constitutional requirements, same sex couples cannot be denied the freedom to marry,” said the majority opinion, which was written by Justice Richard N. Palmer.
Gay couples will most likely be allowed to marry in 20 days. This, of course, is dependent upon attempts by opponents of gay marriage that want to delay the ruling with procedural tactics.
The Assembly is expected to update the marriage laws in January when they are back in session.
But let me warn you fine folks of Connecticut…this still isn’t over. Just like the folks in California who are against gay marriage were able to get a measure put on the November ballot there WILL be the same type of folks in Connecticut that will try to do the same thing. Be aware of this and tell all family and friends to vote accordingly.
Why people can’t butt out and mind their own damn business is behind me. When will straight people learn that the ONLY threat to marriage is DIVORCE!
