Orlando grants health benefits to same-sex partners
Mayor Buddy Dyer, in Orlando, Florida, proposed to allow municipal workers to get health benefits for their same-sex partners.
The city council accepted this proposal unanimously earlier in the week. Orlando is the first city in Central Florida that allows such benefits. There are, however, more than 20 cities throughout Florida that have already granted these benefits prior to this ruling.
